Undebt.it Alternatives: 6 Debt Payoff Apps Compared

Facts checked November 2, 2026. Prices are U.S. prices from each company's own pricing page or App Store listing. Confirm them before you pay.

Let's start with the honest part: Undebt.it is a very good tool. The free version includes unlimited debts, eight payoff methods, Excel export, and support for promotional rates. Undebt.it+ costs $10 a year as a one-time payment that does not renew on its own. The 30-day trial does not need a card. Few paid apps beat that on price.

People still look for alternatives, usually for one of these reasons:

Here are six real alternatives, with what each one does better or worse. We make Snowballer, so it is listed first, and we have kept the comparison factual.

1. Snowballer: a simpler iPhone app built around your debt-free date

Choose it if: you liked Undebt.it's math but want a cleaner phone app with no ads.

Snowballer does less than Undebt.it, on purpose. You add debts and a monthly amount, then choose snowball or avalanche. Your debt-free month is the main number on the screen. All of this is free: logging payments, what-if chips (for example, "what does an extra $25 do?"), a due-next list, a home screen widget, milestones, and a share card that can hide amounts. It also has a Face ID lock, hides balances in the app switcher, and keeps debt names and amounts off your lock screen.

Snowballer Plus costs $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, with a 14-day trial for new subscribers. It adds Plaid bank sync for U.S. banks, a custom payoff order, debt exclusion, "pick your debt-free date," a recurring-charges finder, a monthly AI spending summary, and CSV export.

Where Undebt.it wins: price ($10 a year compared with $39.99 a year for Plus), more payoff methods (eight compared with two plus custom), a web version, and Android. Snowballer is iPhone only and launched in June 2026.

Want to compare the numbers first? Our debt snowball calculator runs in the browser. If you like spreadsheets, as many Undebt.it users do, the free debt snowball spreadsheet works in Excel and Google Sheets.

2. Debt Payoff Planner & Tracker: a long-running, focused iPhone calculator

Debt Payoff Planner by OxbowSoft asks for each debt's balance, APR, and minimum payment, then builds a repayment schedule. You can choose snowball, avalanche, snowflake, or a custom order. It is free to download. The App Store lists in-app purchases from $6.99 to $41.99. We did not confirm which features each purchase unlocks.

Versus Undebt.it: It is closer to a pure phone calculator. It has fewer extras such as bill tracking and calendar sync.

3. Debt Free – Pay Off Debt Faster: private and stored on your device

Debt Free has been on the App Store since 2014. Its listing says it has no ads, no tracking, and no required account, and that core features are free for unlimited debts. It supports snowball, avalanche, snowflake, and custom plans. The App Store lists in-app purchases at $1.99 and $9.99.

Versus Undebt.it: It does not need a web account, which suits people who would rather not put their debts on a website. We also wrote a page on switching from Debt Free to Snowballer that covers what Snowballer does not do.

4. EveryDollar: snowball inside a Ramsey-style budget

EveryDollar lists debts from smallest to largest and connects them to a zero-based monthly budget. The free version covers budgeting with manual entry. Premium costs $17.99 a month or $79.99 a year and adds bank connect, a debt payoff tracker, on-track checks, and coaching.

Versus Undebt.it: You get a full budget, but at about eight times the price of Undebt.it+ per year. We did not find an avalanche option.

5. YNAB: when the budget is the real problem

YNAB costs $14.99 a month or $109 a year. The trial is 34 days if you sign up on its website. It is a budgeting method with an app, not a snowball planner, though its listing includes a Loan Planner for time and interest saved. If you already use YNAB, note that Undebt.it+ can link to your YNAB account. You may not need to switch at all.

6. Monarch: an all-in-one money dashboard

Monarch costs $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year. It syncs credit cards and loans and shows statement balances and minimum payments, plus bills, net worth, and sharing with a partner. It does not plan a payoff order the way Undebt.it does. Pair it with a payoff tool if you need one.

Which one should you choose?

Before you move, export your Undebt.it plan to Excel so you keep your history. Then enter your balances, APRs, and minimums in the new app. Most apps need only those three numbers for each debt.

Get Snowballer free on the App Store → The snowball or avalanche plan and your debt-free date are free. Plus is optional.
